No Longer Blind
Carly Davis
Hands twice the size
Once laced in mine
Stretching them apart
Squeezing me numb
Invading the tiny spaces
Of my being.
I pull away
In those old memories
That creep back to me
When my world quiets-
But never because of you.
You lean in
Close your eyes
And I don’t-
It’s clear now
I stopped feeling
Anything for you
Long before I knew.
“My world quiets- but never because of you.” I like how the hand is used and it allows for there to be the sensation of touch and feel through out. Like when someone leans in.
